Coronary Balloon Catheters for Controlled Percutaneous Angioplasty
Cathtronix PTCA balloon catheters are designed to support controlled coronary balloon dilatation during compatible percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty procedures.
The product family is developed with attention to deliverability, crossing profile, balloon compliance behavior, rated pressure performance, guide wire compatibility, shaft control, radiopaque marker visibility, and procedural precision.
Cathtronix PTCA balloon catheters are developed as sterile, single-use, non-drug-eluting coronary balloon catheters intended to provide controlled balloon inflation, predictable device handling, and compatibility with selected coronary guide wires and guiding catheters.
The Cathtronix PTCA family includes balloon platforms designed for different procedural needs, including semi-compliant balloon dilatation, non-compliant high-pressure dilatation, and CTO lesion preparation.

Product Description
Cathtronix PTCA balloon catheters may include the following coronary balloon platforms:
Defy
Non-Compliant RX PTCA Balloon Catheter
Defy is the Cathtronix non-compliant rapid exchange PTCA balloon catheter platform, designed for controlled high-pressure coronary balloon dilatation where limited balloon growth and precise expansion behavior are required.
Defy is intended to support procedural situations where controlled radial force, predictable balloon diameter, and high-pressure performance are important according to the approved IFU.
Yield
Semi-Compliant RX PTCA Balloon Catheter
Yield is the Cathtronix semi-compliant rapid exchange PTCA balloon catheter platform, designed for coronary lesion dilatation where deliverability, flexibility, and controlled balloon expansion are required.
Yield is intended to support routine coronary angioplasty applications, lesion preparation, and selected pre-dilatation steps according to the approved IFU.
Breach
CTO RX PTCA Balloon Catheter
Breach is the Cathtronix CTO rapid exchange PTCA balloon catheter platform, designed for challenging coronary lesions requiring a low-profile balloon configuration and controlled crossing performance.
Breach is intended to support lesion preparation in chronic total occlusion or difficult-to-cross coronary anatomy according to the approved IFU and device compatibility requirements.

Design Considerations
Clinical and Procedural Value
Balloon Compliance
Balloon compliance defines how the balloon diameter changes as inflation pressure increases. Cathtronix PTCA balloon models are differentiated by compliance behavior, including semi-compliant, non-compliant, and CTO balloon configurations.
Crossing Profile
Crossing profile is important for coronary lesion access, especially in narrow, calcified, or difficult-to-cross anatomy. Selected Cathtronix PTCA models are designed with attention to low-profile lesion crossing.
Shaft Design
The catheter shaft is developed to support pushability, flexibility, and trackability during advancement through compatible guiding catheters and coronary vessels.
Distal Coating
Depending on configuration, the distal segment may include a hydrophilic coating to support smooth advancement during use.
Radiopaque Markers
Radiopaque marker bands support balloon positioning across the target lesion under fluoroscopy.
Inflation and Deflation
The balloon is designed for controlled inflation and deflation using the recommended inflation medium and pressure limits defined in the IFU.
Guide Catheter Compatibility
The guiding catheter size must be selected according to balloon diameter, catheter profile, and IFU compatibility requirements.
Deliverability
The catheter shaft and distal profile are designed to support advancement through compatible guiding catheters and coronary anatomy.
Controlled Dilatation
The balloon is designed to provide controlled radial expansion when inflated with the recommended inflation medium and within the approved pressure limits.
Procedural Flexibility
The Cathtronix PTCA family includes semi-compliant, non-compliant, and CTO balloon platforms to support different coronary angioplasty strategies.
Visibility
Radiopaque markers help the operator position the balloon accurately across the target lesion under fluoroscopy.
Compatibility
Cathtronix PTCA balloon catheters are designed for compatibility with selected 0.014 inch guide wires and appropriate guiding catheters according to the IFU.
Pressure Strategy
Each model has defined nominal pressure and rated burst pressure values to support controlled balloon selection and procedural planning.
